AHMEDABAD: A turnaround in the state’s climate is predicted at the beginning of March itself. The month has started with rain forecast. Meteorological department and meteorological experts have predicted thundershowers in Gujarat. While the unseasonal rain has increased the concern of the farmers of the state.
Ramashray Yadav, Meteorological Scientist of Meteorological Department, Ahmedabad Center gave the weather forecast for Gujarat yesterday. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain today on Saturday as well. In which according to him, there is a forecast of rain with thunder today. It has been said that all the districts of North Gujarat will be affected. Along with this, moderate to moderate rain has been predicted in central Gujarat’s Vadodara and Chotaudepur, while in Morbi, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Botad, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath and Kutch.
Talking about Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, he said that these two cities are also likely to experience light to normal rain with thunder. Along with this, he said that there will be thunder storm activity. Wind will blow at a speed of 30 to 40 km. There is no warning for fishermen.
Explaining the reason for the current rain in Gujarat, he said that there is a Western Disturbance whose position is in Afghanistan and its surrounding areas. An associated cyclonic circulation has formed in the North East Arabian Sea. Along with which another cyclonic circulation is formed in South West Rajasthan. Due to which there is a possibility of rainfall in the above mentioned districts in Gujarat.
On the other hand, weather expert Paresh Goswami has predicted a monsoon in Gujarat on March 2. According to him, many parts of the state may receive rain throughout the day on March 2. He said rain showers may occur in Aravalli, Sabarkantha, Banaskantha, Patan and Mehsana districts on Saturday. Along with this, Paresh Goswami has expressed the possibility of unseasonal rain in parts of West Kutch and West Saurashtra. There are chances of moderate to heavy rain showers in rural areas of Saurashtra’s Porbandar, Dwarka and Jamnagar districts. Light gusts may also occur in Rajkot, Morbi, Surendranagar, Botad. Along with this, Paresh Goswami has expressed the possibility that gusts may occur in Dang on the night of March 2.
