Cyclone Biparjoy Live Updates: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday said that Cyclone ‘Biparjoy’ located over the east-central and adjoining southeast Arabian Sea is likely to shift northwards and intensify into a severe cyclonic storm in the next few hours.
Harsh weather and sea conditions due to the storm can take the wind speed to 135-145 kmph gusting to 160 kmph in the next three-four days. The weather office has issued a warning for fishermen not to venture into the sea.

The IMD has said that Biparjoy is likely to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm in the next 12 hours. It has also said that the cyclonic storm may spare Gujarat.
In view of the Cyclone Biparjoy, a yellow alert has been issued for Kerala districts. Heavy rains are expected in Gujarat and Maharashtra.
4 days of Rain Forecast With High Winds
Meteorological department has predicted rain with heavy wind for the next 4 days. The Meteorological Department said that there may be rain in Gujarat for the next 4 days. Rain is forecast in South Gujarat, North Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch for the next four days. So the impact of thunderstorm activity in the state will also be there. Meteorological Department Director Manorama Mohanty said, due to the storm, winds may blow at a speed of 80 to 100 km per hour on June 10, 11 and 12. While on June 13, the wind can reach a speed of 120 km per hour.
Alert Declared in Coastal Districts
An alert has been issued in coastal districts of Gujarat due to Biparjoy Cyclone storm. The Surat system has been alerted regarding Biporjoy cyclone. Dummas and Suvali beaches have been closed as a precautionary measure by the administration. Surat Police Commissioner has also issued a notification in this matter. In which fishermen have been instructed not to plow the sea. Apart from this, no one has been instructed not to go into the sea water. As part of vigilance, the movement of people has been restricted on the beach.
