In the budget presented for the year 2024-25, the Finance Minister announced the PM Suryodaya Yojana. Under this scheme, solar panels will be installed on 1 crore houses. Under which the subsidy has also been increased from 40% to 60%. Also, banks will also provide loans at low interest rates so that there is no financial burden on the people. Let’s know what are the main features of this scheme and how to register in it?
How to Register In PM Surya Ghar Yojana
The following simple steps have to be followed for registration in this scheme.
- Step 1: To register under this scheme, first of all you have to go to https://pmsuryaghar.gov.in/ portal. Register yourself on this portal. For this you have to select your state and electricity distribution company. In the next step enter the required information about your electricity customer number, mobile number and email.
- Step 2: Then login with customer number and mobile number. After login you have to apply through rooftop solar form.
- Step 3: Then wait for feasibility approval from Discom. If you get the possibility approved, you can install the plant from any of the registered vendors in your discom.
- Step 4: After completion of installation, submit plant details and apply for net meter.
- Step 5: After Net Meter is installed and verified by Discom, your Commissioning Certificate will be generated from the portal.
- Step 6: After receiving the commissioning report, the bank account details and canceled check have to be submitted through the portal. After this, your eligible subsidy will be credited to the bank account within 30 days.
More than 1 crore people will get benefit
PM Modi has given detailed information about this scheme by tweeting. He said that more than 75,000 crore rupees will be invested under this scheme. The scheme aims to light up 1 crore households by providing up to 300 units of free electricity every month. Subsidy to highly concessional bank loans will also be provided under this scheme. The government will ensure that people are not burdened with any cost. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has requested all residential consumers, especially the youth, to join the PM-Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme by applying at pmsuryaghar.gov.in.
