Rain in winter: February is about to start but it is still not as cold as it should be. Due to weak Western Disturbances this year, severe cold has not been experienced. The entire winter in Kashmir has gone without snowfall. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted unseasonal rain in the coming days. Rain with hail has been predicted in various states of the country till February 4.
Rain in winter
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain in the Western Himalayan region. The IMD in its daily bulletin said that two consecutive Western Disturbances on January 30 and another on February 3 are likely to affect the weather.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain in the Western Himalayan region. The IMD in its daily bulletin said that there are chances of rain in various states of the country from January 30 to February 3. The IMD said that in such a situation there are chances of rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh between January 31 and February 4. The local meteorological department said that there is a possibility of heavy snowfall in the higher areas of Himachal Pradesh from January 30 to February 3.
Rain is also possible in Rajasthan
Light rain has been forecast in many parts of Rajasthan. Due to the arrival of Western Disturbance, there are chances of light to moderate rains in many parts of Rajasthan in the coming days. Weather Center Jaipur said the first disturbance will be active from January 31 to February 1. There are chances of impact in the form of light rain over North-West and Northern parts of Rajasthan. While the second Western Disturbance will be active from February 3 to 4. Due to its impact, light rain with thundershower at isolated places is likely over Bikaner division, Shekhawati region and various parts of Jaipur during February 3 to 4.
There is a possibility of rain in so many states
The Meteorological Department has predicted that on January 31, 2024, heavy rainfall is expected at different places in Uttarakhand. The Meteorological Department has predicted snowfall in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar districts of the state till February 1 in the 3000 meter altitude areas. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for the areas of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Tehri Garhwal, Dehradun, Pauri Garhwal, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Almora and Champawat on January 31 and February 1. There are chances of thunder and lightning in some places in the state. The Meteorological Department on a social media bulletin has said that rain with hail is likely at isolated places over Haryana and Chandigarh on Wednesday. The Meteorological Department has asked people to be aware of this while stepping out of their homes.
Along with this, the Meteorological Department has also predicted rain with hail in various areas of Punjab state.
