Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana: The Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana was launched on 17 September 2023. Under this scheme, 18 types of traditional artisans-sculptors will be given toolkit assistance up to Rs 15 thousand.

Training for skill upgradation and stipend of Rs 500 per day.

Toolkit assistance up to Rs 15 thousand.

Vishwakarma Unsecured loan up to Rs 3 lakh to siblings.

Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana

Among the 18 types of traditional artisans are 1) carpenter, 2) boat builder, 3) jeweler, 4) tailor, 5) bead maker, 6) mason, 7) stone, 8) potter, 9) cobbler, 10) washerman, 11) barber. , 12) Locksmiths, 13) Hammer and toolkit makers, 14) Sculptors, stone carvers / breakers, 15) Fishing net makers, 16) Blacksmiths, 17) Basket/mat/broom makers/coir weavers, 18) Dolls and toys maker (conventional)

PM Vishwakarma Scheme

The scheme envisages provision of following benefits to artisans and sculptors.

Recognition : Recognition of artisans and sculptors through PM Vishwakarma certificate and ID card

Skill Upgrading : Basic training for 5 to 7 days and advanced training for 15 days or more, with a stipend of Rs 500 per day.

Toolkit Incentive: Toolkit incentive of up to Rs 15,000 in the form of e-vouchers at the start of basic skill training.

Shreya Aadhaar: Collateral-free ‘Enterprise Development Loans’ up to Rs 3 lakh with tenors of 18 months and 30 months for two branches of Rs 1 lakh and Rs 2 lakh at a concessional rate of interest of 5 per cent, with Government of India subsidizing up to 8 per cent is Beneficiaries who have completed basic training. They will be eligible to avail the first installment of loan assistance up to Rs 1 lakh. The second loan branch will be available to beneficiaries who have maintained the first branch and a standard loan account and have adopted digital transactions in their business or have advanced training.

Incentive for digital transactions: For every digital pay-out or receipt, an amount of Rs 1 will be credited to the beneficiary’s account up to a maximum of 100 transactions per month.

Marketing support : Marketing support is provided in the form of quality certificates, branding, GEM, advertising, promotion and other marketing activities to artisans and artisans on-boarding on e-commerce platforms to improve linkages with the value chain.

In addition to the above benefits, the scheme will involve the beneficiaries on an industry support platform as ‘Entrepreneurs’ in the formal MSME ecosystem.

Beneficiaries will be registered with Aadhaar-based biometric authentication on the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma portal through Common Seva Kendras. After registration of beneficiaries three stages of verification will be carried out, including 1) verification at Gram Panchayat / ULB level, 2) verification and recommendation by District Implementation Committee, 3) approval by Screening Committee.
